Advocacy

I am an active County Court Advocate, working as a Solictors’ Agent for a growing number of Instructing Solicitors. As well as in-Court work, I also assist my clients as a “sounding board” for their upcoming listings.

Bundle production

Collation of complete bundles to your specification, digital or hard-copy. I use Adobe Pro and the HyperLaw Bundle production and case management system, which allows for cloud-based sharing of very large documents with your clients. I am always happy to discuss its benefits with you.

Case theory, analysis & reports

Case discussion from multiple perspectives: I particulary focus on identification of missing information, notation of relevant questions, likely next steps and potential outcomes based on the issues raised; all can be summarised in a written report if required.

Chronologies

In my experience, a good Chronology will help show why things happen, cause and effect. It will reveal patterns of behaviour and this will feed an interview, a negotiation, a skeleton argument or – ultimately – an examination. I can also feed back to you my own observations, quickly and efficiently.

Client conference, fact-finding & form-filling

Conference and interviews to produce witness statements, gather missing information or elicit “hard” or “soft” facts. I am an effective interviewer with significant experience of discussing financial, personal and stressful issues from a professional perspective.

Copywriting

Producing copy for internet, social media, “blog” or hard-copy use. If you have a new project, or want to overhaul your website, I can assist you with providing attractive, persuasive and relevant content .

Courtroom & conference assistant / note-taker

A confirmation of “who said what” can ensure you stay on track with your client, case and the judge. The value of these contemporaneous notes, particularly following adjournments, is invaluable.

Drafting

Particulars of claim, defence & counterclaim, letters before claim, pre-action communications and form submissions: I will ensure that the presentation of information is complete, easy to understand and seamless for the recipient. I can adapt the tone of a piece to suit the nature and tone of the proceedings, as appropriate.

Opinion writing

A brief is taken at the outset and a draft produced as a basis for approval and final submission by a legal practitioner. The draft provides a clear and concise analysis of the facts and the law, with the relative merits of both parties’ case presented.

Regulatory compliance

I am experienced with various elements of trade compliance and export controls, particularly through the Spire Export Licensing System. This is a complex system of compliance admininistration and I am happy to assist clients with research, signposting, licence identification and international trade issues.
